Buying For Hubby? The Best Boots For Him

March 13, 2019

Buying for your husband is never easy. In fact, it’s much easier to simply not and leave him to it. However, there are ways in which you can please him and this summer there are loads of great trends which are guaranteed to impress the man in your life.

I was lucky enough to be approached by Jacamo, who wanted to work with us and make sure the hubby had a solid pair of boots for the start of spring. But what to choose?

Jacamo has a great range in of all the latest trends, so it was a little difficult to know where to start. He opted for a pair of Timberland boots, a real classic that can keep both the snow and the sand out, making them ideal for March going into April.

He’s found them smart, comfortable and actually a shoe that will go with almost anything from a smart meal out to whizzing around the supermarket on a Saturday morning.

They aren’t the only boots that will be popular with men this year though, and if you’re looking to treat a man in your life, you might want to consider the following…

Desert Boots

Desert boots have long been a favourite, worn down the years by the likes of Steve McQueen, rockstars such as Keith Moon and Pete Townshend and even the Royals. Clarks have a long history with the desert boot and are often touted as the best, and they do offer real quality in a number of colours and materials, while you’ll find plenty of cheaper alternatives too.

They’re another shoe that is perfect for both wet and miserable and warm weather and a fashion staple, perfect with chinos, jeans or trousers.

Monkey Boots

Monkey boots are a boot that most will either love or hate, but they do offer a unique style is as timeless as a Timberland or desert boot.

Similar to the desert boot, they’re perhaps most popular in Dr Martens current model, although you’ll find many brands, like Jacamo offer a similar style with a less chunky sole. It’s a boot commonly associated with various subcultures, including punk and mod, and are ideally suited to some denim jeans and a polo shirt or jumper.

Brogue Boots

The brogue is a classic boot that can be used for both formal and casual occasions. Paired with a smart pair of jeans they look fantastic and are perfect for longer walks on days out and a nice meal out.

It’s one of those types of boots that look great on a man and ever since the 1800s they’ve been a must have item. Brands such as Oliver Sweeney and Loake produce some gorgeous looking boots, with the likes of Joe Browns, Clarks and Base London also offering sturdy pairs at around the £100 mark.

There’s plenty of smart variations out there for men, and if you think the man in your life could do with an upgrade, a pair of these could be well worth suggesting.
