With a new year brings changes to the home, updating and making small changed to each room to get the look we want for this new fresh year.
We’ve started off with our lounge and all we have changed is the colour scheme as well as adding some artwork (bare walls after 3 years of owning a house really isn’t a very good thing is it?)
The colour scheme we decided on was a mixture of black, grey and white with a hint of silvery/gold. The reason being that I fell in love with these and these cushions. We also added in some plain black to tie the others together. All came from Dunelm and were already filled with cushions (always a plus in my book).
Next we found the perfect rug* from PC Carpets. As soon as I saw it I knew it would fit into the room so well. The colours and design match everything else so well. We opted for the 120cm x 170cm size and I’m so happy we did, it fills the space we wanted it to and it looks lovely against our hardwood floors. It has a lovely thick and dense pile which makes it super warm and soft under-foot while also meaning it can withstand our children’s rough play.
Our artwork came from The Range and is definitely more of an eclectic mix than just one theme. I love the look of lots of mixed wall art and we’re slowly making our way to covering the walls of most of the house 🙂
Lastly, we managed to find a lamp shade which matches our cushions perfectly. This was also from The Range.
