I’ve written about quite a few different cleansers in the past but a few days ago it occurred to me that I have never written about a cleaning oil, so today that is going to change and I have an amazing one to share with you.
You might remember a while back I was sent a gorgeous package from The Silk Rose with lots of lovely Korean skincare to try out. I meant to share my thoughts much sooner but life got in the way over Christmas (mainly my daughter being very poorly) and I’m just about getting back into it all now.
So, with that said, let talk about the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil.
I was a little taken back with this cleansing oil at first. I kind of expected the oil to actually be black and it didn’t really occur to me that the word ‘black’ was in the name because of its wonderful key ingredients:
Black Bean Oil: to control sebum production
Black Sesame Oil: a powerhouse of antioxidants
Blackcurrant Seed Oil: rich in minerals and vitamins
For an oil cleanser this one works really REALLY well at removing my makeup (even the thick lashings of mascara and eyeliner). I think I can go as far as saying it removes better than any other oil cleanser I’ve used in the past.
It feels lovely on the skin, very nourishing and it doesn’t cause any dryness or irritation to the eyes. I haven’t had any problems with any residue being left after washing it off using a cleansing cloth and warm water so that’s a big plus.
The Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil is hypoallergenic and suitable for all skin types (especially lovely for dry and sensitive skin types). It’s free from nasties like parabens, artificial dyes and alcohol and is not tested on fluffy bunnies (or any other animals).
Sound good? Head on over to The Silk Rose where you can buy it for £16 (150ml).

I heard a lot about Klairs. Haven’t tried anything from them yet though. This sounds really good.
Sounds like a lovely product. Issy x
I really love cleansing oils
Lovely review! Thanks for the great info.
Klairs is a great brand. Currently using the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop (think I saw that in your Insta photo too) Can’t wait to see what you think of it. 🙂
