Ever since having children my skin has fallen behind and gotten a little worse for wears. I put this down to all the extra ranging hormones of being pregnant and then all the stresses that breastfeeding puts on your body. My skin had gone from soft, smooth and supple to being uneven, unsmooth and far from glowing.
I’d heard so many wonderful things about the La Roche Posay products and thought it was about time I give then ago and all I can say is that I wish I have started using them sooner!
About the products:
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+
The New Effaclar Duo+ (a new and improved formula) targets blemishes, clogged pores, excess sebum and helps to prevent red marks and dark spots hanging around after the blemish has cleared up. You can use it twice daily with or without moisturiser.
Thoughts:
The Effaclar Duo+ has a nice light texture and melts into the skin with an almost instant calming effect. For the first week of use I did have quite a strong burning sensation but I found it reassuring (like the product was doing something) after the first week that feeling has subsided and now it feels great once on my skin.
La Roche Posay Effaclar K
Described as ‘anti-relapse’ cream. It evens out the skins surface and gets rid of any little bumps you may have helping you to regain a smooth and clear complexion. The cream provides gentle exfoliating benefits, unblocking pores of dead skin cells and sebum buildup that causes acne. With daily use, it helps protect against a future relapse of imperfections.
Thoughts:
The Effaclar K is ever so slightly more creamy in texture but again it absorbs beautifully into the skin leaving it feeling moisturised and calmed. As I mentioned, it’s an ‘anti-relapse’ cream which suggests you’d use it once your skin has cleared up. I’ve been using it in conjunction with the Effaclar Duo+ as I feel it’s a bit more moisturising and as the Effaclar Duo+ alone made me a little dry around my nose I thought why not use both?? They work Amazingly together.
My results so far….
I’ve been using them for 3 weeks now and my skin has changed drastically and for the better may I add. The small breakouts I was getting before have stopped and my skin texture looks smoother and is baby soft to the touch. My pores are visibly smaller (or should I say pretty much invisible). I’m hooked on both of these and will be keeping them on my dressing table incase any nasties try to pop up on my face.
***Just as a little side note I want to mention that with any new skin care product you really need to use it for at least a month to see if it’s going to work for you. Sometimes your skin may seem to get worse to start with but hang in there and your skin will soon see wonderful changes.***
Available from large Boots store nationwide and online at Boots. Effaclar Duo+ retails for £15.50 and Effaclar K retails for £13.
