Nars is a brand that graces the covers and pages of many magazines, walks down countless catwalks, fill the bags of makeup artists and is adored by bloggers and makeup lovers everywhere.
To me, the quality and range of their products is second to none and at the top of a very (very) long list of makeup brands I’ve used over the years.
Today I want to talk about their infamous foundations because well, they are AMAZING and I’ve has so many emails asking what I think of them.
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
I cannot begin to fathom just how much I love this foundation. It’s been my most used foundation since getting it a few months ago and I can’t get enough of it.
As you can tell by the name, the Nars Sheer Glow gives the skin the most beautiful Glowing dewy finish. Skin looks flawlessly airbrushed and photo ready after a quick and easy application of the Nars Sheer Glow.
You can apply the Nars Sheer Glow with warm fingers but I must say I prefer to use a buffing brush, I feel you use a lot less product and the finish looks a little more airbrushed.
Nars describe the foundation as a light-medium coverage but I actually find it more medium-full as it covers everything so well.
Nars Sheer Matte Foundation
For someone who can get pretty dry on the cheeks I didn’t know how well the Nars Sheer Matte would work on my skin. I have to say I’m really surprised with the results (in a good way)
Although the Nars Sheer Matte is geared towards greasy skin it defiantly does work on dryer skin too. With a good quality moisturiser I find my skin looks really nice when I use it.
The Nars Sheer Matte definitely gives a very different effect than the Nars Sheer Glow, for a start, it’s Matte, I think it gives a lovely smooth velvet appearance to skin which is really lovey for cooler months.
For me, the Nars Sheer Matte gives a medium coverage.
Both the Nars Sheer Glow and the Nars Sheer Matte last for a great amount of time on my skin without moving and thinning out. I’d say a definite 8 hours for both as I haven’t left either on for longer than that.
Again both come in very sleek glass bottles which contains 30ml of foundation and as you only need a small amount, it lasts for a really long time (even using it daily). The only downside would be that you have to buy pumps for the bottles separately but I would say they are worth it!

Have you tried GA luminous silk? If so how does it compare to the sheer glow?
I’ve wanted to try these for so long now but don’t know if I want to spend so much money on them 🙁 x
I haven’t tried the Sheer Matte yet but I have the Sheer Glow. Do you find the application different with each one? Does the Sheer Matt dry quicker when applying? xxx
I have an oily t-zone so really want to try out the Sheer Matt. Sounds like it would be perfect! x
I have been contemplating whether to get one of these or take the plunge and try both. Thinking it may be both bow 🙂
I have both of these and they are by far my fave, shame they are so pricey though but it wont stop me from buying them. Lovely post! xx
Nars products never disappoint me. I have all their lip glosses and 5 lipsticks plus a sheer glow and some shadows xx
Love NARS. I have a sample of the matt foundation but it’s a little too light for my skin. Does go on well and look nice so I think I’ll buy the correct one in a full size soon. xxx
Ok you’ve convinced me. I totally need both of these foundations STAT! 🙂 xx
Would also like to know if you’ve tried the GA luminous silk and what you thought. xx
I love the dewy finish from the sheer glow. Also really like that there are so many colours, makes it easy to find a good match! x
I can’t get enough of my sheer glow. I have it in 3 colours and mix them together when I’m tanned and if I want a little more glow. X
Lovely post! I’m always looking to see what people think about the two of these. Pretty photos too, they look so cute lined up together x Jassy
