Pregnancy Week 37 – Full Term

June 3, 2012

I’m full term today! Can you believe it? Time has just gone so fast.

I’m super excited to see what happens over the next 3 or so weeks. I wonder if baby girl will be early or late and what time of day or night it will be when I go into labour. I’ve been thinking about what she may look like and allowing myself to dream of that amazing newborn smell.

I have been getting lots more Braxton Hicks this past few days and even though it’s an uncomfortable feeling (not painful at all) every time it has given me a little thrill knowing that I will soon be able to hold my daughter.

I’m starting to get a little anxious about the birth. I just want it to go well and not end up going the same way it did with Luke. All the doctors I have seen think it will be ok this time but the thought is still in the back of my mind (what if it doesn’t?). All I know is that right now everything is perfect for me to go for a natural birth but as all mothers know, labour and birth isn’t a very controllable thing and many things can happen in the last few weeks/days/hours to change all you plans. Please just keep your fingers crossed for me!

According to the baby app on my phone baby girl is now about 6lbs (not really sure how accurate that is), she should now have a full head of hair and the vernix that covered her body has mostly gone.

So, now it’s just the big wait. If you haven’t yet please like my Facebook and Twitter as I will be updating there once I’m in labour and go into the hospital.
