I am so very happy to be writing this post. You may have seen on my Instagram that I received some lovely packages from Tarte Cosmetics and I am in love with every single item.
Today I’ll be talking about the Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation which I am sure many of you have heard of or even tried out for yourselves by now.
First of all let’s start with that beautiful packaging. It comes in a lovely squeeze tube which to me is perfect as you don’t need to be sticking your fingers in it to get to the product, so it’s far more sanitary, plus it also stops o lot of wastage. I particularly like the bamboo lid, I think it’s such a nice touch to the packaging.
The foundation itself comes out looking like whipped up moose. It’s very creamy, rich and lightweight in texture that when worked onto the skin blends out beautifully to cover pores, discolorations and imperfections. It is highly pigmented which gives that flawless medium-high matte coverage.
The Amazonian clay found within is nutrient-rich and total-skin-balancing which reduces dryness and flakiness, improves skin clarity, elasticity, firmness, and texture while removing oil from the skin’s surface for smooth application and wear. (AMAZING and oh so true) I have a few dry area and within 15 minutes of putting this on they have smoothed out, gone, vanished…POOF like magic!
Onto the staying power: Tarte say this is a 12 hour foundation and so far I gone up to 8 hours before taking it off. In those 8 hours it didn’t budge, cake up or flake off. It just didn’t go anywhere. I looked the same at 10 in the morning as I did at 6 in the evening. I’m now going to try it out for the full 12 hours but I’m thinking it’ll be the same outcome.
Available is 16 shades with different undertones of Pink, Peach and Yellow there is a shade for just about everyone. I have the shade Light Medium Honey which is for light to medium skin with peach undertones and it’s a perfect match.
The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation is priced at £32 from QVC (including foundation brush) and $38 on the tarte website as well as Sephora, it’s a fairly pricey foundation but I feel like it’s really at the top of its game. It offers everything and more and has become my staple for every day.
