You don’t want to lose your identity whilst pregnant, but knowing what does and doesn’t work can be tricky. Luckily, we can look to celebrities to help guide us over the do’s and don’ts of maternity style!

K-Middy is probably the most famous pregnant woman in the world right now, which means she’s had to take her maternity style very seriously! Especially considering her pre-maternity style has been so well documented, admired, and possibly even saved some previously failing brands!
Do: take inspiration from Kate’s last public engagement before the birth. She looks pretty in pink here, finding the balance between cute and sleek. This Alexander McQueen coat works perfectly with the understated hat, flowing over her bump without making it the focus of the outfit!
Don’t: avoid maternity wear! Kate seemed to resist maternity wear until she had no option – does she not know about the gorgeous styles out there?! You have the majority of your life to spend wearing non-maternity clothes, so take advantage of this time!
Kim Kardashian
Kimmy K is pretty much American royalty now along with the rest of her family, so her style and pregnancy is as well documented as Britain’s own Kate Middleton. Before she was pregnant, Kim Kardashian was famous for her gorgeous body and amazing style…but can the same be said for her maternity style?
Do: Keep it sleek. It’s nice to embrace your bump, but Kim looks amazing dressed in smart monochrome. These are the colours she rocked before she was pregnant and she looks amazing here with her bump in tow!
Don’t: Try and fit into clothes that don’t fit your new body. The famous sand-coloured dress Kim wore during her pregnancy was stunning, but was clearing a size too small, which didn’t flatter her chest and seemed to restrict her waistline.
Lucy-Jo Hudson
The former Coronation Street star has been grabbing the headlines recently thanks to her amazing maternity fashion choices. She has looked stunning throughout her pregnancy and is a great icon for other pregnant women to take inspiration from!
Do: Dazzle in light colours! Lucy-Jo looked amazing in Greek goddess style when walking the red carpet at the British Soap Awards in a dress from celebrity favourite Tiffany Rose. This dress is the right combination of classic gorgeousness with a sexy twist, perfect for any occasion.
Don’t: We think Lucy Jo has got it spot on so far! Well done Lucy!
